Julie Yujin Jang is a junior at Rutgers Newark University majoring in Political Science and minoring in Philosophy. She is deeply involved in campus life as a NJPIRG campaign coordinator, lobbying in Washington D.C., and working on civic engagement on the Rutgers-Newark campus. She works with the Sheila Y. Oliver Center of Race and Politics and the Intercultural Resource Center, and is Resident Assistant. Last summer, she interned on Capitol Hill under Representative Bill Pascrell (NJ) through the Rutgers Scarlet Service-DC program. Her experience in student advocacy and research developed her special interest in immigration rights and Korean politics. After publishing two articles about race and politics in the Scarlet Magazine publication, she is excited to write for the Eagleton Political Journal.
