Alessandra Hurtado is a sophomore at Rutgers University. I am from Essex County and have had an interest in politics from an early age. During high school, I worked with government officials in my township to ensure student advocacy and safety. I am majoring in Political Science and double minoring in criminology and critical intelligence. I am in the Latinx Pre-Law Society. I intend to pursue law school after I graduate and work in the government as a lawyer. I am excited to partner with the Eagleton Institute to help achieve their goals to educate the youth of civic duty and how our government works. I am very passionate about using journalism as a way to inform others about politics and to share opinions.
